A mobile-first map of dog-friendly places across Lanarkshire and Scotland, curated through real visits with two Golden Labs.
Archie & Cody is a dog-friendly places guide built around two Golden Labs. It is designed to be more useful than a generic “pet friendly” directory, with practical details such as lead rules, water access, parking, muddy routes, and whether cafés welcome dogs inside.
The mobile-first website combines an interactive Leaflet and OpenStreetMap map with a filterable place list. Visitors can explore walks, beaches, cafés, pubs, and stays, or suggest somewhere for Archie and Cody to review.
The first release focuses on curated places across Lanarkshire and central Scotland. The longer-term plan includes favourites, trip collections, wider UK coverage, and native iOS and Android apps sharing the same place data.
The project uses Next.js and TypeScript, with typed place data and Docker support. The map interface and core pages are ready, with place verification and form delivery still being finished as the site goes live at archieandcody.co.uk.
